MOVIN’ ON ANNOUNCES 2012 HEADLINERS!
The 2012 Movin’ On CORE Committee is pleased to announce the much anticipated headliners for this year’s spring music festival. After months of student survey campaigns, budget meetings and contract negotiations, the Executive Committee has verified the top four acts scheduled to perform at the April 27th concert.
The folk rock band and 2007 AMA group of the year, The Avett Brothers, will headline the free festival along with performances by rap sensation and three-time Grammy Award winner Ludacris, and groups Young the Giant and The David Mayfield Parade. There is still one more headliner to be determined, making this year’s lineup complete with five paid acts.
The bands were selected based on results from the Google surveys provided by the CORE Committee, budget range, and band availability. The complete lineup will be determined concluding the Battle of the Bands competition for student acts, scheduled for Saturday, March 31st at 9:00 p.m. in Alumni Hall in the HUB.
This year’s Movin’ On music festival will be held on Friday, April 27th at 3:30 p.m. at IM Field West, outside Beaver Stadium. Admission is free for both Penn State students and the general public. Food vendors, merchandise tables and special activities will be present during the event. More information regarding acts and activities will be released as the festival approaches. The final itinerary for Movin’ On 2012 will be available online at www.movinon.org.

Movin’ On is in search for their annual logo for this year’s festival. Submissions can be submitted in PDF format to movinon@psu.edu by Tuesday, November 20th, 2011. Logo submissions must be black and white, rectangular in nature and contain the following : “Movin’ On 2012″ “Funded by UPAC” and optionally could include “Spring music festival”. If selected, Movin’ On can request changes to the logo and it then becomes property of Movin’ On. The winning contestant will receive a t-shirt with their logo! Logo will be used on all print (such as flyers and t-shirts) and online media.
We had a ton of great submissions last year for the logo contest, and we are looking forward to your submissions this year!
